Box Score 2 WATERBURY, Conn. – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) softball team (15-19, 11-11 CACC) splits its Sunday afternoon conference road doubleheader in Waterbury, Conn. with the Post Eagles (17-19, 15-7 CACC). Post won the first game, 4-3, while Jefferson grabbed the second affair, 5-4.
SUNDAY GAME ONE – L, 4-3
Jefferson made a late comeback attempt in game one that just fell short against the Eagles. Post took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first behind an RBI double.
The Eagles struck again with three runs in the sixth to go up 4-0. Post led the inning off by scoring on a triple plus a throwing error before two two-out runs across the four-hit inning.
The Rams managed to get their bats alive in the top of the seventh, recording four of their six hits from game one in the inning. With one out, Jovanna Alfonis, Courtney Wensel and Erin Maher each recorded hits to load the bases from Stys. Katelyn Stys singled to left to score Alfonis and Wensel to pull the Rams within two, 4-2. Stephanie Pepper brought home another run on a sac fly, 4-3. With two outs, a groundout ended Jefferson's rally as Post won, 4-3.

SUNDAY GAME TWO – W, 5-4
Jefferson managed to split its Sunday series at Post with a 5-4 game-two win.
Breck Urban helped the Rams score early in the top of the first inning on an RBI groundout.
Post scored all three of its runs in a five-hit, three-run third inning to take a 3-1 advantage. But the Rams came right in the top of the fourth inning to score four to regain a 5-3 edge. Wensel and Emily Bradley had RBI singles in the effort while Taylor Maroon managed a two-run single in the four-hit inning.
Post got one back in the sixth to get within one, 5-4, but the Rams were able to hang on.
Bradley started the contest and pitched 3.0 innings, allowing three earned runs before being relieved by Pepper (W, 9-7) who pitched the final 4.0 innings with four strikeouts. She allowed just two hits over that stretch and one unearned run in the sixth.
