Box Score 2 PHILADELPHIA – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) softball team (8-10, 4-2 CACC) took two games from the Chestnut Hill Griffins (0-12, 0-5 CACC) on Thursday afternoon from the CHC Softball Field in Philadelphia, Pa. Jefferson won game one, 8-0, before winning game two, 4-2.
THURSDAY GAME ONE – W, 8-0 (6)
Jefferson used eight hits to run-rule the Griffins in game one on Thursday including three two-run singles.
Junior Naomi Stas (W, 4-4) pitched all 6.0 innings with no runs and three hits. The Tuckerton, New Jersey native struck out eight while not allowing a walk.
Sophomore Breck Urban, sophomore Emily Williams and Stas each had two-run singles in the win.
Junior Kayla Henry-Caltabellotta started the scoring in the second with a single to left field to bring in sophomore Jovanna Alfonsi. Junior Courtney Wensel then scored on a wild pitch to make it 2-0.
Stas brought home two in the fourth on a single up the middle before Urban did the same to make it 6-0.
Williams' single in the sixth gave Jefferson an 8-0 advantage as senior Erica D'Angelo and sophomore Madison Heno came around to score.
Urban went 2-for-4 as the lone multi-hit game though all nine Rams got on base via a hit or walk at least once.
THURSDAY GAME TWO – W, 4-2
The Rams recorded 12 hits in game two as they pulled out the 4-2 win for the Thursday sweep. Williams went 3-for-4 while Urban, senior Erin Maher and sophomore Katelyn Stas each notched two hits.
Urban singled up the middle in the third to put the Rams on the board as she scored Heno. A two-run single by Maher brought home Williams and Urban as the Rams led 3-0 through three innings.
Chestnut Hill got two back in the fifth before Williams delivered another RBI single in the sixth to put the game out of reach.
Junior Stephanie Pepper (W, 3-3) allowed five hits and two runs (both unearned) while striking out seven to just one walk across 7.0 innings.

The Rams return to action tomorrow, Friday, April 6 with a home conference doubleheader against the Bloomfield Bears. First pitch is slated for 1 p.m.
