PHILADELPHIA - The Thomas Jefferson University volleyball team (13-3, 4-3 CACC) suffered a 3-0 loss to visiting Georgian Court on Thursday evening.

GAMEPLAY
The Rams jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the opening set but the Lions came back with five straight points for a 6-5 advantage. The teams rallied back and forth for the middle portion of the frame. Jefferson was ahead 17-16 but GCU scored four in a row to make it 20-17. The Rams came no closer than two from that point as the Lions took the set 25-22.

In the second, the Rams led 3-2 but the Lions registered four straight to go in front 6-3. Georgian Court did not trail for the rest of the stanza, pulling away with a 12-3 run to end the set for a 25-15 win.

Jefferson opened the third with five of the first six points. However, the Lions rallied for seven of the next eight to go ahead 8-6. The score was even at 11 before the Rams recorded five of six for a 16-12 advantage. GCU stormed back again, this time a 9-2 surge, to take over, 21-18. The Rams were able to get within one (24-23) but the Lions clinched the match with a kill.
