Second Period Goal Gives Men's Soccer 1-0 Win Over Bloomfield
BLOOMFIELD, N.J. - Gabe Paz scored a goal in the 69th minute, helping the Thomas Jefferson University men's soccer team (7-8, 5-5) take a 1-0 win in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action over Bloomfield College (1-14, 0-11) in Saturday afternoon action.
WHAT HAPPENED
The Rams went on the offensive attack early, taking 15 shots compared to the Bears seven. Bloomfield goalkeeper Jomar Vizcaino was able to stop seven shots, keeping the game scoreless through the first half.
The second half saw similar numbers for Bloomfield, taking seven shots again while only allowing eight for Jefferson. Matteo Crescente had six of his 10 saves in the second half. The Rams had three straight shots attempted to the goal, with the last attempt by Paz, fail to get in the net. The fourth shot was taken by Paz once again, this time he was able to convert and get the goal, giving Jefferson a 1-0 lead at the 60th minute which they would hold onto to the end of the match.
This win helps Jefferson's chances of making the CACC Championship postseason as they are currently the fifth seed as of today.

Jefferson head coach Ptah Myers has now tied Walt Chyzowych as the Ram's all-time leader in wins with 122. Ptah has coached Jefferson since 2010, winning 2 CACC Championships (2013 & 2014) and appearing in one NCAA Tournament in 2014. He also was awared CACC Coach of the Year in 2014.
