Myers Becomes All-Time Winning Coach; Three First Half Gives Jefferson 3-0 Win Over Holy Family
PHILADELPHIA, PA – Three Rams were able to score in the first half, allowing the Thomas Jefferson University men's soccer team (8-8, 6-5) to maintain their lead and cruise to a 3-0 victory over Holy Family University (5-8-4, 3-6-2) in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action this Wednesday afternoon.
WHAT HAPPENED
Jefferson took their time to get onto the scoreboard, but
Diego Guzman earned a goal off a
Kai Mangahas assist at the 19
th minute to push the Rams up 1-0.
Miguel Fonseca followed behind at the 25
th minute as he found the back of the net off a
Sean Stackhouse assist, making it a 2-0 lead for Jefferson. Getting closer to halftime,
Gianluca Calvosa made sure to put one more on the board for the Rams, scoring at the 42
nd minute mark to go into the break up 3-0.
The second half was more defensive, trying to cruise their lead and push into the postseason. The Rams took less shots in the second half (5) than in the first (11). Meanwhile the Tigers took six shots in both periods, with not one finding the back of the net. The Rams would hold onto their 3-0 lead and earn their four consecutive win in a row.

With the 3-0 win over Holy Family, Jefferson men's soccer head coach
Ptah Myers earns his 123
rd as the Rams head coach. This win would pass him over Walt Chyzowych to become the all-time winningest coach in Jefferson history. Myers earns that milestone in his 14
th season as the Ram's head coach. He coached Jefferson to two CACC Championships in 2013 and 2014, getting the team to the NCAA Tournament in 2014. Myers was also named CACC Coach of the Year in 2017. Myers now heads into the CACC Championship postseason with that milestone under his belt
