INDIANAPOLIS – The Thomas Jefferson University women's tennis team is seeded third in the East Region and will travel to second-seeded Saint Thomas Aquinas to begin the NCAA Division II Tournament on Monday, May 1
st at 11:30 a.m.
The winner of the match will advance to the Round of 16 and compete for a national championship at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida from May 11-16.
The Rams (19-4) received an at-large bid after a stellar season in which they reached the CACC final for the second year in a row. Jefferson's four defeats have come to just two teams, Wilmington and Saint Thomas Aquinas, who are the top two seeds in the region. The Rams are making their first NCAA tournament appearance since 2009 and fourth overall as a program.
The Spartans (17-3) won the East Coast Conference title for the first time in program history to earn an automatic bid to the national tournament. It is their second consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament.
