Women's Volleyball Sweeps Holy Family
PHILADELPHIA – Thomas Jefferson University women's volleyball (8-13, 4-3) looked to get on a winning streak as they went up against Holy Family University (6-14, 3-5) in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action this Tuesday evening. The Rams earned the 3-0 sweep over the Tigers in their Dig Pink game.
WHAT HAPPENED
- Both the Lions and Rams kept it close to begin the first set, going back and forth in the match, eventually seeing Holy Family going up 10-8
- Jefferson proceeded to earn 12 of the next 13 points, giving them the 20-11 lead
- The Rams outpaced the Tigers, eventually winning the first set 25-14
- The second set followed the same pattern as both squads refused to yield, having the match even at 17-17 through the set
- Jefferson broke the last portion of the set, with the Rams earning the final eight points to take set two 25-17
- The Rams continued that momentum in the third, jumping out to a 13-4 lead
- The Tigers began to get back in the match, creating their own run with a 9-4 spree to trail 17-13
- Jefferson held out the edge once more, earning eight out of the last 12 points to take the third set 25-17 and earn the 3-0 sweep against the Tigers

Ritchie collected 11 digs tonight, bringing her career total to 974. She needs 26 more digs to not only reach 1,000 career digs, but become just the fourth Ram in school history to have 1,000 kills and digs in their collegiate career.

Jefferson will have a quick turnaround as the Rams compete on Wednesday, October 23 at 7 p.m. when they travel on the road to compete in non-conference action against Kutztown University.
