PHILADELPHIA – The Rams and Marauders went tooth and nail against one another, scoring after the other going all the way down to the last 10 seconds of the game with Jefferson up 100-98. A foul brought Jeremiah Dorsey to the line for a one and one, where he knocked both of them down to help Thomas Jefferson University (4-0) win the battle of unbeatens 102-98 against Millersville University (3-1) in non-conference action on Saturday as the Rams celebrated Ram Madness. 

WHAT HAPPENED 

  • The first half saw both teams be competitive, switching leads in the opening nine minutes on nine different occasions 

  • Ashton Miller and Farouk Kaba joined the scoring action for the Rams. Fullerton had eight of his 11 points in the first seven minutes of action 

  • After a Miller and-one conversion, the Marauders went on a 16-3 run that put them up 42-31 

  • Hawkins had 10 of his career-high 24 points during the final stretch of the first half. Kaba put up nine points down the stretch. Miller had a new career-high, scoring 34 on the night with the last basket in the first half helping the Rams go into the break up 57-52 

  • Rams shot 62.5% on the floor in the first half, going 10-of-16 from beyond the arc 

  • Miller continued his scoring as he had eight of the Rams 10 points in the second, with Hawkins making a layup during that time. Miller also had back-to-back threes. 

  • Isaiah Thomas-McClain made two three pointers in the second half, including one that broke an 88-88 tie after the Marauders came to even the game up 

  • A Miller three with Kaba and Hawkins layups made the game 98-90 with 1:14 to go 

  • Millersville refused to go out without a fight, rallying to make it a two points game, 100-98, with 10 seconds left on the clock 

  • Dorsey went to the line, working with a one and one. He made both free throws, icing the game to keep Jefferson undefeated 102-98
