Rams Ends Weekend with Bounce Back Win Over Bloomsburg
BLOOMSBURG, PA – Four Rams scored in double digits and shot over 50% in both halves as Thomas Jefferson University men's basketball (8-3) get back in the win column with a 78-67 victory over Bloomsburg University (1-9) in Sunday afternoon non-conference action.
WHAT HAPPENED
- Rams outscored the Huskies 35-29, with Jefferson shooting 53.85 on the floor (14-of-26) while Bloomsburg were 11-of-32 shooting. Troy McGregor started off the scoring for them with a three as Ashton Miller, Sean Fullerton, and Justin Hawkins all had a basket during the first four minutes of the game
- Trailing 16-9, Bloomsburg went on a 14-4 run to put them up 23-20. McGregor capitalized with a three to event it out. That set up five straight points by Justin Hawkins, a Moustapha Sanoh dunk, and Isaiah Thomas-McClain nailing a three to end the first half for Jefferson up 35-29
- Rams continued their attack, outscoring the Huskies once again 43-38. Jefferson went 15-of-28 on the floor and a perfect 8-8 at the free throw line, making all 10 of their attempts during the game
- Fullerton put up six points in the first five minutes of the second half while Hawkins put up four. Thomas-McClain made a three during that stretch
- Both teams kept trading points, but Jefferson eventually pulled ahead to an 11-point lead
- Thomas-McClain made another three and a fastbreak layup to keep the Rams lead up to 11 over the Huskies
- Bloomsburg kept getting baskets, getting as close as five points, but Jefferson never waivered as they kept hitting their shots and free throws to end their day with a 78-67 win
