No.15 Women's Soccer Takes Down Holy Family
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – No.15 nationally-ranked Thomas Jefferson University women's soccer (10-1-1) stayed in Philadelphia as they head down the highway to go up against Holy Family University (1-7-3, 1-1-3) in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action. The Rams took care of business as they defeated the Tiger 4-0 in Tuesday evening competition.
WHAT HAPPENED
- The game was scoreless for the first 18 minutes before Gianna Garozzo capitalized on her shot hitting the goalkeeper on the body to ricochet and allow Garozzo to attempt another shot, making it in and giving Jefferson an early 1-0 at the 19th minute mark
- The Rams added another one on the board as Nikki Dedes had a header against the goalkeeper off a Kyra Lesko kick for a 2-0 advantage at the 25th minute mark
- Jefferson didn't let up as Evelin Ventura-Garcia got her shot in the net around 4:14 into the second half off a Dedes pass
- Dedes added a second assist in the match as she hit a bounce pass to Sophia Henry, giving her the chance to pop it to the top left of the goal and turn the game into a 4-0 victory for the Rams
