No.10 Women's Soccer Blanks Goldey-Beacom
WILMINGTON, Del. – No.10 nationally-ranked Thomas Jefferson University women's soccer (11-1-1, 7-0-1) went on the road blanked out Goldey-Beacom College (5-6-3, 3-3-2) 3-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) competition on Wednesday afternoon.
WHAT HAPPENED
- The Rams defense came out strong, pushing the Lightning back to their side of the field enough that it forced an own goal, earning Jefferson a 1-0 lead just 6:22 into the contest
- A corner attempt at the 13th minute saw a quick pass to Kyra Lesko and Mia Ferrara to help set a Gianna Garozzo header in the net for a 2-0 lead that the Rams would maintain to the break
- Jefferson hit the dagger as Dillan Sorino pushed another goal in the net at the 62nd minute, making it a 3-0 lead that would be maintained to the end of the game
- Carly Hayman took the win as she made four saves while recording her seventh shutout on the season
