Women's Volleyball Suffers Setback Against Holy Family
PHILADELPHIA – After showing a strong first set, Thomas Jefferson University women's volleyball (5-7, 1-2) dropped the next three sets as the Rams fell in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) South action against Holy Family University (10-5, 2-1) in Thursday evening competition.
WHAT HAPPENED
- Jefferson started hot in the first set, hitting .294 percent and earning five straight points to get a 18-11 lead. The Rams would go onto take the first set 25-18
- The second set seemed to go in similar fashion with Jefferson getting ahead in the set 20-14. The Tigers went to earn 11 of the next 12 points to make it 25-21 and even the series out
- Holy Family kept their momentum in the third and fourth set, winning 25-12 and 25-16 respectively over the Rams. Jefferson was unable to muster any offense, hitting .069 in the third and .133 in the fourth set
- Alexa Pomeroy led the team with 16 kills on the night. Emily McKenna followed behind with 15 kills. Meredith Adams handed out 38 assists while Kate Hines produced 15 digs
