Women's Volleyball Downed in Four to Wilmington
WILMINGTON, Del. – Thomas Jefferson University women's volleyball (5-8, 1-3) looked to get out of their recent slump as they headed to Delaware to compete in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action against Wilmington University (8-7, 5-0). The Rams were not able to escape Tuesday with a victory, falling 3-1 to the Wildcats.
WHAT HAPPENED
- The Wildcats went up 2-0 after taking the first set 25-23 and the second set 26-24. Jefferson rallied to be down by one point in the first set while only being one point away from taking set two 24-22
- The third set went in favor of the Rams. A six-point run catapulted Jefferson to a 25-19 victory and made the series 2-1
- Jefferson got out to another lead, this time 10-5, before Wilmington stormed back to defeat the Rams 25-16 win the series 3-1
- Emily McKenna, Alexa Pomeroy, and Jaysa Even all had double digit kills on the day with 22, 15, and 11 respectively. Meredith Adams had 41 assists while Kate Hines led the squad with 25 digs
