Men's Soccer Suffers Defeat to District of Columbia
PHILADELPHIA – Thomas Jefferson University men's soccer (5-6-4) took on their final non-conference opponent on Wednesday when they hosted the University of the District of Columbia (8-3-3). The Rams kept the match close but a goal off a save upended Jefferson 1-0 to the Firebirds.
WHAT HAPPENED
- The game was a defensive battle with both squads only having seven shots apiece
- District of Columbia broke the tie in the second half as a shot that was saved rolled in front of the net slowly, where Yamah Nawabi scored to give the Firebirds the lead
- The Rams took four shots in the second half but were unable to even the game out
- Lucca Bellina made three saves in the net for Jefferson
