Men's Basketball Outpaced by Saint Anselm
PHILADELPHIA – Thomas Jefferson University men's basketball (3-3) hosted Saint Anselm College (5-1) in non-conference action. After tying the game at 24-24, the Rams were unable to keep up with the Hawks as Jefferson fell 91-78 in Wednesday afternoon competition.
WHAT HAPPENED
- Jefferson and Saint Anselm both scored four points early on to have it tied at 4-4. The Hawks went on a 9-0 run that had them ahead 13-4 early in the first half. The Rams rallied back as they had a 20-9 run to tie the contest at 24-24 with 8:13 before the break
- Saint Anselm scored the next six points to retake the lead that they would never relinquish for the rest of the game
- Jefferson cut the lead down to 10 at the break and to seven after a three pointer to open the second half
- The Rams had shot over 50% on the floor in the second half as well as beyond the arc, but could never hold down the Hawks as Jefferson dropped their non-conference game 91-78
- Jeremiah Dorsey led all scorers with 22 points on the day. Sean Fullerton and Alex Bates IV followed behind with 17 and 13 points respectively
