Women's Basketball Falls on Road at Georgian Court
LAKEWOOD, N.J. – Thomas Jefferson University women's basketball (6-3, 2-2) went on the road and looked to earn a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) victory, but were unable to hold down Georgian Court University (2-6, 2-1) as the Rams fell 74-64 to the Lions in Thursday evening action.
WHAT HAPPENED
- The Rams had a basket by Emily Spratt and Tori Nigro that made it 4-2 in the game, giving Jefferson their only lead of the contest. The Lions embarked on a 18-7 run to get themselves ahead 20-11. Jefferson scored the final six points by way of a Caleigh Sperling basket while Gabby Recinto had a shot and two free throws go her way as the team trailed by three points
- The second quarter had the Rams only produce six points while Georgian Court posted 13. Jordyn Thomas put up a basket while Spratt made two shots of her own. Jefferson went into the break trailing 33-23
- The third quarter saw the Rams go out and outscore Georgian Court 20-15. Recinto had six points while Spratt scored five, Carolyn Sipprell put up four during those 10 minutes, Tori Nigro added three while Sperling made a basket in the third. Jefferson went on a 16-7 run to trail by five points heading into the fourth quarter
- Jefferson scored an early basket and eventually tied the game at 52-52 with 6:09 to go. The Rams couldn't hold off the Lions as they were outscored 22-12 in the final six minutes as Jefferson fell 74-64 to Georgian Court
- Spratt led all scorers with 25 points while Recinto had her fourth double double as she produced 16 points with 12 rebounds. Nigro dished out four assists on the day while stealing the ball three times

Jefferson will take the week off before they have back-to-back games next week. They begin with their first match on Friday, December 19 when the Rams travel on the road to go up against Millersville University at 1 p.m.
