Men's Basketball Falls to Caldwell in a Hard-Fought Battle
PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Thomas Jefferson University men's basketball team (14-11, 8-6 CACC) struggled offensively in the second half, falling to Caldwell University (16-9, 7-6 CACC) by a score of 67-58 on Wednesday night at the Gallagher Center.
WHAT HAPPENED
- Jefferson started off highly in the first half, knocking down seven three-pointers, going into halftime with a 39-37 lead.
- Justin Hawkins led the attack with 14 points and had 5 rebounds and 2 steals, while Ashton Miller followed him up with 10 points and led the team with 9 rebounds.
- The Rams couldn't get it done in the second half, going 0-of-11 in three-pointers and shooting just 25.9% from the field, thus allowing Caldwell to take the lead.
- Caldwell then took advantage of Jefferson's unchanged struggles utilizing 40 points in the paints and 13 fast breaks to pull away in the closing minutes.
