Men's Basketball Falls Short Against Goldey-Beacom

WILMINGTON, Del. - After trailing most of the contest, Thomas Jefferson University men's basketball (12-9, 6-5) only trailed by two points with 11 seconds to go but were unable to pass the Lightning as the Rams fell 74-69 to Goldey-Beacom College (9-13, 6-5) in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action. 

WHAT HAPPENED 

• Both teams kept it close in the first half, with Goldey-Beacom only going into the break up by four points. The Rams went 10-of-28 on the floor in the opening half 

• Justin Hawkins scored 10 of his 17 points during the first half 

• The second half saw the Lightning begin to pull away, getting their lead as high as 11 points 

• Jefferson battled back, pushing the pace as Ashton Miller put up 15 points, Farouk Kaba added eight, and Jeremiah Dorsey joined Hawkins with seven apiece 

• Sean Fullerton jumper with 11 seconds to go had the Rams trail by two points, but Goldey-Beacom went 3-for-4 in free throws to secure the 74-69 win
