Five Rams Take Home Eight Weekly Awards
 
PHILADELPHIA – Thomas Jefferson University athletic department has five of their athletes being recognized with Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Weekly Awards for competition that ran through September 15-21. Carly Yeager earned Defensive Player of the Week for women's soccer, Emily McKenna was honored as the volleyball Player of the Week, Olivia Grahn and Dylan Boyle continued their roll as they both were named Runner and Rookie of the Week for men's and women's cross country, and Anouk Oderkerk added her own hardware with Player and Rookie of the Week as well.
 
CARLY YEAGER – DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Yeager earns her fifth weekly award in her career, first this year, and the second weekly award for women's soccer this season. Yeager helped anchor a defense that didn't allow a single goal in the Rams 2-0 week. She began with a 90 minute battle that saw Jefferson come out on top 1-0 over Southern Connecticut State. Yeager followed it up by playing 72 minutes in the Rams 3-0 shutout over CACC opponent Post. Helped anchor a defense that allowed only 4 shots in two games combined.
 
EMILY MCKENNA – PLAYER OF THE WEEK
This is the first weekly award for McKenna for the season and in her career as well as the first for women's volleyball on the year. McKenna recorded 47 kills, 35 digs, 3 service aces, and 2 blocks on a .220 hitting percentage as the Rams went 3-0 on the week. She began her time on the court with 16 kills and 6 digs with a .500 hitting percentage in Jefferson's sweep over Chestnut Hill. McKenna followed it up with 12 kills and 27 digs in a 3-2 five-set thriller over Southern Connecticut State. She concluded her week with 19 kills and 12 digs in a four set victory over Millersville.
 
OLIVIA GRAHN – RUNNER AND ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Grahn has now taken Runner and Rookie of the Week in the CACC for the third consecutive week (She was Co-Rookie and Co-Runner last week). Grahn led the Rams and all CACC runners with a 4th place finish as she ran a personal best 22:52.25 in the 6k event. She has now been the top Ram runner for three straight races.
 
DYLAN BOYLE – RUNNER AND ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Boyle has his fourth and fifth weekly award this year, being named CACC Runner twice and Rookie all three weeks. Boyle led the Rams and all CACC runners with a 12th place finish as he ran a personal best 25:41.29 in the 8k event. He joins Grahn as the top Ram runner for three straight races.
 
ANOUK ODERKERK – PLAYER AND ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Oderkerk earns her second and third weekly award, taking home Player of the Week for the first time while earning Rookie of the Week for the second consecutive week. Oderkerk went to win all of her singles and doubles against CACC opponents Dominican and Chestnut Hill, taking the singles to two sets and only having her closest match be 6-3. She is now 4-0 on the year in singles and doubles competition, all in conference play as well.
 
The Rams get themselves ready for this week. women's volleyball  travels to Goldey-Beacom College on Tuesday, September 23 at 7 p.m. for a conference match. Women's tennis looks to stay unbeaten when they go against Wilmington University on Wednesday, September 24 at 2 p.m. with women's soccer traveling to face the Lions at 3:30 p.m. as well. Cross Country takes the week off before heading to Lehigh University to compete in the Paul Short Run on Friday, October 3.
