PHILADELPHIA – On the eve of New Year's, Thomas Jefferson University (7-5) ended the calendar year on a high note as they took down Pace University (6-4) 86-82 in non-conference action on Wednesday.
 
WHAT HAPPENED
  • First half was even between both squads, as they each shot over 60% and made identical baskets (the Setters were 16-of-25 while the Rams went 17-of-25). The game went back and forth with Jefferson going in the break up by three points
  • Pace got out early in the second to go ahead 44-43, but a seven point swing put Jefferson back ahead
  • The game was tied at 76-76 with 3:20 to go. The Rams saw Matt McCool hit a free throw and Sean Fullerton convert on a layup to turn it to a 79-76 contest. After a made free throw by the Setters, Jeremiah Dorsey a three pointer to make it a five point game
  • Pace fought back and got within two points with six seconds left. Dorsey put the game on ice with two made free throws, giving Jefferson a 86-82 win
  • Dorsey lead all scorers with 27 points while McCool and Fullerton added 14 apiece. Brendan Mykalcio contributed with 13 off the bench while leading the team in assists with six.
