PHILADELPHIA – Thomas Jefferson University women's basketball (12-5, 6-3) celebrated Ram Madness as they took home a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) win over Dominican University of New York (5-12, 3-6) in Saturday afternoon competition.
 
WHAT HAPPENED
  • The Rams had their shooting game on display as they went 44.3% on the floor. Jefferson shot over 45% in three of the four quarters
  • Defense showed up as well, holding the Chargers to 33.3 percent shooting
  • After leading 17-6 in the first quarter, Dominican cut the Rams lead down to seven at the break as they outscored Jefferson 16-12 in the second quarter
  • The Rams pushed the pace in the second half, outscoring the Chargers 32-22. Jefferson lead as much as 18 while allowing Dominican to get as close as nine points
  • Emily Spratt, coming off a career-high 31 points against Goldey-Beacom College, followed up with her second best scoring day with 26 points. She went 11-of-18 on the court and 2-3 from beyond the arc while stealing the ball five times
  • Tori Nigro scored 10 points while having four assists alongside Spratt and Ana Pellecchia. Jordyn Thomas and Gabby Recinto put up seven points apiece. Thomas had Jade Marquez help on the board as they both grabbed six rebounds in the contest. Pellechia had four steals on the day
  • Cayla Howard led the Chargers with 23 points on the day with Tamia Nunes as she scored 12 points
