PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (Oct. 14, 2026) – Freshman Jude Clymer (Quakertown, Pa. / Faith Christian) delivered the deciding goal and sophomore goalkeeper J.R. Sexton (Kitchener, Ontario, Canada / St. Mary's Kitchener) collected seven saves as the Thomas Jefferson University men's soccer team defeated Holy Family University, 1-0, at Ravenhill Field on Wednesday afternoon.
The victory continued an impressive defensive stretch for Sexton and the Rams, who earned their third consecutive clean sheet following shutouts against Chestnut Hill College and Felician University.
Clymer, the freshman midfielder, broke through in the 26th minute, converting on an opportunity created by senior forwards Cole McEvoy (Gap, Pa. / Pequea Valley / Loyola University Maryland) and Parker Smith (Huntsville, Ala. / Montverde Academy) off a corner kick. Clymer's brace gave the Rams a timely advantage they would maintain for the remainder of the afternoon.
Jefferson continued to pursue a second goal before the halftime whistle. McEvoy and senior Miles Hood (Newark, Del. / Caravel Academy) each put quality shots on target, while Sexton handled all three shots on net he faced during the opening period to send the Rams into the break ahead, 1-0.
The second half saw the Rams defense snuffing out Holy Family's attacking plans at every turn, and Sexton remained steady throughout the final 45 minutes at the center of it all. The Canadian keeper added four second-half saves, including stops in the 83rd and 86th minutes, to seal the victory, the clean sheet, and three more points to keep the Rams firmly in the CACC Postseason Tournament picture.
Head Coach Jason Rocha and the Rams will look to keep their momentum going when they travel to Post University on Saturday, Oct. 17. There, they will look to continue a streak of five consecutive games resulting in conference points. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
