Women's Basketball Concludes Road Stretch with Victory at Dominican (N.Y.)
ORGANEBURG, N.Y. – Thomas Jefferson University women's basketball (16-9, 10-7) finished up their regular season road contests as they took on Dominican University of New York (5-17, 3-13) in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action. The Rams built up their lead early on to leave with a 68-58 victory over the Chargers in Saturday afternoon competition.
WHAT HAPPENED
- First quarter had it even for both teams with Jefferson holding the slight advantage, earning a 15-14 lead after the opening 10 minutes
- Second half had the Rams outscore the Chargers 21-15. They used a 6-0 run in the second to get their lead up as much as eight points before Dominican came back and cut it to three. Jefferson added a pair of free throws and a basket to go in the half up by seven
- The Rams continued their attack and made their lead into double digit figures as they scored 19 points to the Chargers 12. Dominican would rally in the fourth but Jefferson held on and earned the conference win
- Gabby Recinto led all scorers with 25 points on the day. Emily Spratt followed behind with 17 of her own. Carolyn Sipprell added 12 points for the Rams

After putting up 17 points on the day, Spratt is now only 31 points away from 1,000 in her career. She would become the 41st women's player in program history to achieve this feat and just the sixth player to do so in the last four seasons.

Jefferson will now have three straight home contests to end their regular season. They begin on Tuesday, February 17 as they host Goldey-Beacom College in CACC action at 6 p.m.
