Women's Basketball Falls to Chestnut Hill in Regular Season Finale
PHILADELPHIA – Thomas Jefferson University women's basketball (17-11, 11-9) hosted their final home game of the regular season as they competed in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action against cross town rival Chestnut Hill College (15-12, 12-7) in Wednesday evening action. The Rams held a first quarter lead but ultimately fell to the Griffins 68-61.
WHAT HAPPENED
- First quarter had Jefferson hold off Chestnut Hill on their way to a 15-9 lead after the opening 10 minutes. The Griffins responded by outscoring the Rams 18-11 and holding the momentum through the next two quarters
- Both teams had their best quarters in the third as Jefferson scored 23 points while Chestnut Hill edged them out by adding 24 of their own
- The fourth went in the way of the Griffins once more as they went 10-of-17 from the charity stripe to maintain their lead. The Rams went to finish their final regular season contest with a 86-81 defeat
- Emily Spratt led all scorers with 24 points on the evening. Tori Nigro and Gabby Recinto followed behind with 12 and 10 points respectively
- Sara Tamoun was the leading scorer for the Griffins, contributing 21 points on the night. 18 of those points came in the second half. Tiayo Adelekan produced 13 points off the bench

Jefferson will now be either the No.5 or No.6 seed in the CACC Championship Tournament next week. The Rams will head on the road and either face Chestnut Hill College or Felician University on Tuesday, March 3. Time will be determined this weekend.
