Women's Tennis Earns Third Seed in NCAA East Regional; Hosts Adelphi
INDIANAPOLIS – The Thomas Jefferson University women's tennis team is seeded third in the East Region and will play as the host institution to second-seeded Adelphi University to begin the NCAA Division II Tournament on Friday, May 8.
The winner of the match will advance to the Round of 16 and compete for a national championship at the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex in Surprise, Arizona from May 19-23.
The Rams (19-7) received an at-large bid after holding an undefeated Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) regular season and advancing to the CACC final for the fourth time in five seasons. Three of the seven losses Jefferson has comes from three teams in the Region, Wilmington, Queens (N.Y.) and Adelphi, who all have made the East Region Tournament. The Rams are making their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2023 and fifth overall as a program.
The Panthers (17-5) won the Northeast 10 (NE10) title for the fifth time in program history to earn the automatic bid to the national tournament. It is their third consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament.
Jefferson and Adelphi both competed against one another this season on April 13, with the Rams falling 4-3 to the Panthers. Both teams look to advance in the NCAA Tournament as the winner will go down to Surprise, Arizona for the Round of 16 and look to capture the NCAA Championship title.
