Superb First Half Helps Men's Basketball Rout Georgian Court
LAKEWOOD, N.J. – Thomas Jefferson University (5-4, 2-2) scored 45 first half points that helped propel them to a 78-57 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) win over Georgian Court University (5-4, 2-1) in Thursday evening competition.
WHAT HAPPENED
- Jefferson started off strong in the first four minutes of play, going on a 14-2 run early in the first half. A seven point run, with Alex Bates IV putting up five points during that stretch, made it 30-12 halfway through the first half. Rams ended the period with nine points off four from Jeremiah Dorsey, a three by Bates IV, and a layup by Matt McCool as Jefferson went into the break ahead 45-22
- The Lions fought back and outscored Jefferson 35-33, but the Rams held strong and finished the game as 78-57 winners. Jefferson led as much as 29 points during the contest
- The Rams shot 49.1% on the floor while the Lions only could muster 31.5 shooting percentage
- Dorsey (16), McCool (15), Bates IV (14) and Brenda Mykalcio (14) all scored double digit points for the Rams while nine players had a point in the contest. McCool had a double double as he added 13 rebounds on the night
