Men's Basketball Falls at Home to Bridgeport
PHILADELPHIA – Thomas Jefferson University men's basketball (4-4, 1-2) was up 29-22 over the University of Bridgeport (3-3, 2-1) after the first half, but a 50-point turnaround by the Purple Knights dropped the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match for the Rams 72-67 in Saturday afternoon action.
WHAT HAPPENED
- The first half went in favor of the Rams, with the defense holding the Purple Knights to 22 points and 29.03% on the floor. Jefferson went on a 19-11 run at the backend of the first half to go up 29-22 at the break
- Bridgeport came back and went ahead 57-56 with 6:33 left in the contest. The Rams scored five points in a row to retake the lead, but a 13-3 Purple Knights run to go ahead 70-64 with less than a minute remaining. A three-pointer by Jefferson cut it to a one-basket game, but could not capitalize and ended up falling to Bridgeport 72-67
- Brendan Mykalcio led the team with 16 points off the bench while Alex Bates IV had 15 for the team. Jeremiah Dorsey put up 12 for the Rams
