Assumption College Takes One-Point Win from Rams

Box Score

Senior forward Jason Hickenbottom and sophomore forward Malcolm Ingram tallied 19 point apiece, but it wasn't enough to prevent a 60-59 loss to Assumption College in men's basketball action on Friday in Smithfield, R.I.  With the setback, Head Coach Herb Magee's team falls to 5-8 overall entering its second contest of the Bryant University Holiday Tournament, a Saturday evening matchup with the host Bulldogs.

The Rams, who were attempting to avenge an earlier season loss to the Greyhounds at the 2007 Disney Tip-Off Classic, held a 27-26 lead after 20 minutes of action on Friday.  However, Assumption outscored Philadelphia University, 34-32, in the final frame to take the one-point decision.  In addition to Hickenbottom and Ingram, guard Mike Dunn finished with nine points on three three-point field goals while the Rams limited the Greyhounds to three offensive rebounds in the contest.
