Men's Basketball Drops Second Straight, 61-53 at Bryant University

Box Score

Sophomore forward Marcus Lemon came off the bench to score a team-high 13 points for Philadelphia University, but the Rams still fell at Bryant University, 61-53, on Saturday night.  The loss, which came in the team's second contest in the Bryant University Holiday Tournament, drops the Rams to 5-9 overall on the season.

The host Bulldogs jumped out to a 17-3 lead in the first half, eventually stretching the advantage to 19 points at 32-13 with 3:54 remaining in the opening frame.  However, Head Coach Herb Magee's squad closed the half with a 9-1 run, trimming the deficit to 33-22 when sophomore guard Russell Frederick hit a three-pointer with three seconds remaining.

The Rams cut the lead to seven points, 35-28, on a jumper by sophomore forward Mike Yocum with just over 14 minutes left in regulation, but Bryant answered and pushed the lead back to double-digits.  In addition to Lemon, senior forward Jason Hickenbottom added 12 points for Philadelphia University while Frederick finished with 11 in a losing effort.
