Rams Take Fifth in a Row in Defensive Struggle With Lightning

Sophomore forward Malcolm Ingram (Philadelphia, Pa./Solebury Prep) tied a career-high with 26 points, hitting nine of 13 shots from the field, in a 64-55 victory for Philadelphia University in men's basketball action against Goldey-Beacom College on Tuesday night at the Gallagher Center.  The win is the fifth straight for Head Coach Herb Magee's squad, which improves to 11-10 overall and a perfect 8-0 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC).

Ingram, who also grabbed nine rebounds and collected three steals, got help from sophomore point guard Russell Frederick (Joppa, Md./Calvert Hall), who finished with 13 points, and junior guard Mike Dunn (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin), who contributed ten points.  The Lightning, who fall to 10-8 overall and 4-5 in the CACC, were led by sophomore guard Adrian Miles (Washington, D.C./DeMatha) with 15 points.

Next up for the Rams is a trip to New Castle, Del. to face their other rival from the Diamond State, at Wilmington University on Saturday, February 2 at 3:00 p.m.  Earlier this season at The Palestra on December 1, 2007, Philadelphia University earned a hard-fought 65-61 victory over the Wildcats.
