Asangmbeng (Riverdale, MD/ Bladensburg) scored just four
minutes into play in the first half off a corner kick from
sophomore Mike Mousaw (Marmora, NJ/ Ocean City),
but the Philadelphia University men's soccer team (4-4-2, 0-2 CACC)
was downed 2-1 by Queens College (5-2-1) on Wednesday afternoon.
QC evened the match at 17:43 on a goal by Brian Buckmire, and
scored the game-winner at 49:43 by Noorullah Mashriqi.
The Rams controlled the tempo throughout most of game,
outshooting the Knights 18-11, and edging QC in corner kicks 10-2.
Senior goalie Charles Custer (Cinnaminson, NJ/
Cinnaminson) had five saves, while QC keeper Ivan Salame had five
stops on the day.
The Rams return to action in a homecoming match on Saturday,
October 4th vs. Nyack at 2:30 p.m.
