Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University
men's soccer team (6-4-3, 2-2-1 CACC) played to a 2-2 double
overtime tie at home against Dominican College (9-2-1, 5-0-1 CACC)
on Saturday afternoon. The Rams outshot the Chargers 19-15,
giving Dominican- a team that has been ranked in the top 25 teams
in NCAA Division II this year- their first outcome other than a win
in CACC competition this year.
Sophomore Mike Mousaw (Marmora, NJ/ Ocean City)
put the Rams up 1-0 at 36 minutes in the first half, assisted by
sophomore Ryan Flaherty (West Chester, PA/
Henderson). Dominican came back to even it 1-1 at 52:04 with
a score by James Hamilton.
Junior Sean Campbell (Westbury, NY/ L.I.
Lutheran) knocked in a shot from 18 yards out to give the Rams a
2-1 advantage, but the Chargers tied the match at 79:10 with a
score from Diego Barahona.
The teams would play through two scoreless overtime periods to
end in a 2-2 double overtime stalemate.
Senior goalie Charles Custer (Cinnaminson, NJ/
Cinnaminson) had 11 saves for the Rams.
Next up the Rams will head to East Stroudsburg on Tuesday,
October 14th for a 7:00 p.m. match.
