Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University
men's soccer team (7-6-3, 3-3-1 CACC) tied their record for largest
win margin this season with a 5-1 victory over the Felician College
Eagles (3-10-1, 1-7 CACC) on Tuesday afternoon. Freshman
Ian Martin (Beachwood, NJ/ Toms River South) led
all scorers with two goals.
The Rams got on the board first, as they were assisted by an own
goal from the Eagles with just ten minutes left in the first
period to take a 1-0 lead.
PhilaU's Martin scored his second goal of the year at the 43:00
mark in the first stanza as the Rams went into halftime up 2-0.
Junior Svetozar Gladic (Novi Sad, Serbia)
knocked in his 10th goal of the year 15 minutes into the
second half to increase the Ram lead to 3-0.
The Eagles broke silence halfway into the second period as Boris
Shabovta scored on a penalty kick to make it 3-1.
PhilaU's Martin added his second goal of the game with under
five minutes remaining, and freshman Alex Null
(Lock Haven, PA/ Central Mountain) got his first career goal a
minute later as the Rams captured the 5-1 victory.
Senior goalie Charles Custer (Cinnaminson, NJ/
Cinnaminson) had two saves in goal for PhilaU, while FC's Paulo
DosSantos had six stops for the
Eagles.
The Rams will host Holy Family on Saturday, October
25th at 12:00 p.m.
