Philadelphia Rams Bruise Mercy 101-42 in Non-Conference Victory

Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University Rams (8-2, 2-0 CACC) roughed up the winless Mercy College Mavericks (0-13, 0-3 ECC) in a 101-42 victory at Herb Magee Court on Sunday afternoon.  The Rams scored in triple-digits for the first time in over two years- the last time being a 102-69 win at Bloomfield on December 7th, 2006.  Junior guard Russell Frederick (Baltimore, MD/ Calvert Hall) led all scorers with 24 points, five rebounds and five assists. 

PhilaU jumped out to a 13-0 lead to start the contest and never looked back as they shot 59% to MC's 34% from field goal range for the game.  Junior forward Mike Yocum (Dresher, PA/ Episcopal Academy) scored 12 first half points, finishing the day with 16 points, six rebounds and two blocks.

Senior guard Mike Dunn (Harrisburg, PA/ Central Dauphin) scored 15 points, including four three-pointers in the first half alone as the Rams led 52-18 at the break.

Mercy was led by Kortney Parker with 12 points and seven rebounds.

The Rams did not slow down in the second half, starting off on an 8-0 rally.  Junior forward Malcolm Ingram (Philadelphia, PA/ Solebury Prep) knocked down seven second-half points, finishing with 15 points and six boards, while junior guard Marcus Lemon (Alexandria, VA/ T.C. Williams) had a career-high eight assists on the day.

Senior guard Carroll Mitchell (Baltimore, MD/ Towson Catholic) set a new career-high with four points, and sophomore guard Ishmawiyl McFadden (Philadelphia, PA/ Simon Gratz) scored seven points and pulled down a game-high seven boards. 

Freshmen b(Woodbridge, NJ/ Monmouth Academy) and Paul Draper (Camden, ME/ Camden Hills) both saw significant time, and sophomore Ola Sasona (Morris Plains, NJ/ Parsippany) added five points for the Rams.

Next up for PhilaU, the Rams travel to Adelphi on Tuesday, January 6th for a 7:30 non-conference game.
