#2 PhilaU Men's Soccer Ends Season in CACC Semi's in PKs

Lakewood, NJ- The #2 seeded Philadelphia University men's soccer team (12-5-3, 8-2-1 CACC) ended their 2010 run with a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Semifinal loss to #3 seeded Dominican College 12-3-3, 7-2-2 CACC) on Thursday in penalty kicks.  The game score was a 1-1 double overtime tie, as the Rams lost 3-2 in PKs.

In regulation, the Rams went down 1-0 in the second half with a DC goal at the 57:00 mark, but freshman midfielder Mark Holman tied it up on a goal with just six minutes remaining. 

Both teams played through two scoreless halves as the match went into PKs.  In the penalty kick stanza, the teams were tied at 2-2 at the end of the first round and a goal from DC's James Flaherty and a PhilaU miss sent the Chargers to the CACC Championship match.

PhilaU freshman goalie Alex Heston had eight saves in the loss.
