Nyack, NY- Philadelphia University men's
soccer head coach Ptah Myers picked up his first
collegiate victory on Saturday in a 3-1 win over the Nyack College
Warriors (1-2, 0-1 CACC). The win improved the Rams to 1-1,
1-0 CACC.
Goals were scored by senior defender Wojciech Sliwinski (Kenilworth, NJ/David Brearley), senior
midfielder John Noriega (Hummelstown, PA/Hershey)
and junior midfielder Ryan Purnell (Hamilton,
Bermuda/ Berkley Institute).
The Rams were up 2-1 at the half as Noriega's score proved
to be the game-winner at 43:13. Assists came from Purnell and
freshman midfielder Mark Holman (New Orleands, LA/
Ben Franklin). NC's Gavin Penny scored his team's
lone goal.
PhilaU goalie Jason Barber (Princeton, NJ/
Princeton) had five saves in 90 minutes, while NC's Adrian
Ibanez made eight stops for the Warriors.
PhilaU returns to the pitch in their home-opener on Tuesday
(9/14) vs. West Chester University at Ravenhill Field at 4:30 p.m.
