Purnell clinched the golden goal in a 1-0
double-overtime sudden death victory in the 102 minute over the
West Chester University Golden Rams (2-3, 0-2 PSAC) on Tuesday
evening at Ravenhill Field. PhilaU improves to 2-1, 1-0 CACC
with the win.
Purnell's goal came on a long assist from sophomore defender
Travis
Lobb after both teams battled through three scoreless
periods.
PhilaU freshman goalie Alex
Heston picked up seven saves in his first win, while
WCU's Kevin Marron took the loss after playing 34 minutes in the
net.
PhilaU continues action on Thursday (9/16) at Holy Family
University at 4:00 p.m. in a conference match.
