NYACK, N.Y. – The Philadelphia University men's soccer game kept its unbeaten streak alive after fighting to a 1-1 draw with Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opponent Nyack on Saturday afternoon.

Philadelphia's overall record now stands at 4-0-4 and its CACC record is 2-0-3. The eight-match unbeaten streak is the longest to open a year since the 1989 Rams began the season at 7-0-2. The Rams entered the match ranked sixth in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division II East Region Poll.

Nyack, the defending CACC champion, is now 4-2-1 overall and 3-0-1 in the conference.

Midfielder Victor Chagonda put the Rams on the board in the 34th minute with his first goal of the season. After receiving a pass from defender James Ruff, Chagonda took a shot from inside the box that went off of Nyack keeper Jodel Wright and into the goal.

Nyack responded with a 38th-minute strike from Marco Likos to level the score at one. Jacob Schwanitz earned an assist on the goal.

The game got chippy in the second half as five Rams and two Warriors received yellow cards. The Rams played with 10 men when David Lawrence was sent off in the 87th minute after getting a second yellow card.

In the extra sessions, the Rams defense held strong as Nyack only attempted three shots. Keeper Thomas Attamante, playing in his first match of the season, made one save in the first overtime.

Attamante finished the game with seven saves, while Wright made five for the Warriors.

Nyack outshot Philadelphia, 20-10.
