Box Score

PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia University men's soccer team increased its winning streak to three after knocking off Nyack, 4-0, in a Homecoming Day Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match Saturday afternoon on Ravenhill Field.

Philadelphia (7-3-0, 5-1-0 CACC) got a goal and an assist from sophomore forward Ishmaiah Calwrie (Baltimore, Md./Randallstown). Junior forward Dominic Rodriguez (Pennsauken, N.J./Pennsauken), senior midfielder Kyle Ferrier (Christiana, Pa./Octorara Area), and senior David Lawrence (Wilbraham, Mass./Wilbraham & Monson Academy) all found the back of the net once. Sophomore midfielder Ryan Schroy (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) dished out two assists.

Rodriguez opened the scoring with his first goal of the season at the 30:33 mark. Schroy played a through ball ahead to Rodriguez down the right sideline, who ran passed the defense and beat Nyack keeper Tom Lohman to the far side.

The Rams kept the pressure on the Warriors (4-5-1, 2-4-0 CACC) with a consistent offensive attack until they added an insurance goal from Calwire at 80:48. Calwrie received pass at the right corner of the penalty area from Schroy, took a quick touch, and buried his shot into the left side of the net. It was Calwrie's second goal of 2013.

Lawrence tacked on Philadelphia's third goal just 1:20 later as he chipped his free kick attempt from 19 yards away over a wall and Lohman for his first goal this year. Ferrier added the final goal at the 86:56 mark with a shot from 10 after flick pass from Calwrie left him with a wide-open net.

Junior goalkeeper Thomas Attamante (West Orange, N.J./West Orange) made two saves to record his third straight shutout, sixth overall. Lohman stopped three shots for Nyack (4-5-1, 2-4-0 CACC)

The Rams outshot the Warriors, 15-10.

Philadelphia travels to Wilmington (Del.) for a CACC match on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 3:30 p.m.
