Box Score NEWARK, Del. – Sophomore forward Jordan Lynch (Brampton, Ontario/St. Marguerite d'Youville) scored his second goal of the 2013 season in the Philadelphia University men's soccer team's 1-1 draw against Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) foe Wilmington (Del.) Tuesday afternoon at the WU Athletics Complex.
Philadelphia is now 7-3-1 overall and 5-1-1 in conference play. Wilmington goes to 8-3-1 overall and 4-2-1 against the CACC.
Lynch broke a scoreless tie when he took advantage of a failed clear inside the Wildcats' penalty area at the 52:36 mark.
Philadelphia held the lead until Todd Woll volleyed in a corner kick that hit the crossbar by Geoff Velasquez.
The Rams took the final three shots of regulation, including a header by senior defender David Lawrence (Wilbraham, Mass./Wilbraham & Monson Academy) on a corner kick with seven seconds left which was stopped by Spyros Stergiotis.
In the first overtime, both teams attempted two shots. Sophomore forward Ishmaiah Calwrie (Baltimore, Md./Randallstown) was on the player to get his on net with 2:56 left. Wilmington outshot Philadelphia 3-1 in the second overtime. Junior goalkeeper Thomas Attamante (West Orange, N.J./West Orange) and Stergiotis each made one save.
Attamante finished the match with three saves. Stergiotis made three saves in relief of Frank Hall, who stopped three shots in the first 80:28.
Wilmington owned the edge in shots (12-10) and corner kicks (11-4).
Philadelphia heads to Post for a CACC match on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 3 p.m.
