Men's soccer defeated by Dominican (N.Y.), 1-0

ORANGEBURG, N.Y. – The Philadelphia University men's soccer team was shutout by host Dominican (N.Y.), 1-0, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) showdown Saturday afternoon at the DC Athletic Field.

Philadelphia is now 2-2 overall and 0-1 in the CACC. Dominican—ranked eighth in the National Soccer Coaches Association of American Division II East Region rankings—moves its overall record to 2-2 and its conference mark to 1-0.

Manuel Valencia scored the lone goal of the match at the 79:23 mark on a free kick from 25 yards out.

Andres Ruiz stopped one shot for the Chargers. Junior goalkeeper Thomas Attamante (West Orange, N.J./West Orange) did not make a save for the Rams.

Dominican owned a 7-2 shot advantage.

Philadelphia is back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 18 when Goldey-Beacom comes to Ravenhill Field for a CACC contest. The match will start at 4:30 p.m.
