Men's soccer continues streaking with 3-2 win at Georgian Court

LAKEWOOD, N.J. – Dominic Rodriguez (Pennsauken, N.J./Pennsauken) scored with 15:49 left in regulation to break a two-all tie and give the Philadelphia University men's soccer team a 3-2 victory over Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opponent Georgian Court Tuesday afternoon.

Philadelphia increases its unbeaten streak to eight, including seven consecutive wins, as it improves to 9-3-1 overall, 5-3-1 in the CACC. Georgian Court is now 3-8-2 overall, 3-4-1 in conference play.

Rodriguez scored his fifth goal of the year, second match-winner, after passes from Zach Brown (Bowie, Md./St. John's College) and Armando Canela (Marlborough, Mass./Marlborough)

Brown opened the scoring in the 20th minute with his first collegiate goal as he one-timed a Seiji Rose (Toulouse, France/ Lycee Climatique et Sportif Pierre de Coubertin) corner kick into the Lions net.

Georgian Court responded with a 29th minute tally by Edward Glover. Chris Kulczytzky (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) gave Philadelphia a 2-1 lead going into halftime as he found the back of the net in the 43rd minute. Canela took a free kick to set up Kulczytzky's first goal of 2014.

Jordan Eugenis capitalized on a Philadelphia miscue in its own end to tie the match at two just 1:58 into the second half.

Philadelphia outshot Georgian Court 16-7, 8-1 in the opening 45 minutes of play.

The Lions' Rylan Gentil made five saves in a losing effort, while the Rams' Thomas Attamante (West Orange, N.J/West Orange) did not record a save.

Philadelphia ends the regular season with five straight home matches starting with a CACC clash against Caldwell on Thursday, Oct. 16 at 3:30 p.m.
