Box Score

NYACK, N.Y. – The Philadelphia University men's soccer team earned a 1-1 draw against host Nyack in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match Saturay afternoon.

Philadelphia extends its unbeaten streak to six as it goes to 7-3-4 overall, 5-2-2 in CACC play. Nyack is now 5-6-1 overall and 4-3-1 against the conference.

In the dying seconds of the first half, Juan Naranjo (North Plainfield, N.J./North Plainfield) scored his fourth goal of the season to open the scoring with four seconds to play.

The Rams were unable to carry any momentum from the late strike over to the second half as the Warriors were awarded two corner kicks in the first two minutes of the half. After the first corner was knocked over the end line by a Ram defender, Francois Legoedec's second corner found Andrew Kupp, who deposited the ball into the net at the 46:50 mark for the equalizer.

Angelo Dambalas (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee) had a couple of chances to break the deadlock for the Rams, the first at 72:30 and the second at 84:23, but was stopped both times at Warrior keeper Wiktor Lasota.

After the first overtime session where neither team put a shot on target, Philadelphia's Jason Rocha was stopped by Lasota on two separate occasions and Ben Sauer (Bel Air, Md./Perry Hall Christian) denied Nyack's Samuel Viau in the second overtime.

Sauer stopped three shots for the Rams, while Lasota ended the match with five stops. Both teams attempted 12 shots.

Philadelphia welcomes Georgian Court to Ravenhill Field for a CACC contest on Tuesday, Oct. 20 at 2:30 p.m.
