Men's soccer falls to Dominican (N.Y.), 1-0

ORANGEBURG, N.Y. – The Philadelphia University men's soccer team suffered a 1-0 loss to Dominican (N.Y.) in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match Saturday afternoon.

The Chargers (1-5-0, 1-1-0 CACC) broke the scoreless deadlock in the 77th minute on a Christopher Montera goal off of a cross from Andres Colombo. It was Dominican's only shot-on-goal during the contest.

Philadelphia (3-2-1, 1-2-0 CACC) attempted four shots on the Dominican goal, a team-high two from Seiji Rose (Toulouse, France/Lycee Climatique et Sportif Pierre de Coubertin). Dominican keeper Steven Hegner stopped all four shots, two in each half.

The contest was a chippy affair as the two teams combined for 45 fouls and 10 yellow cards, five shown to each squad. Dominican owned a 9-7 shot advantage.

Philadelphia returns home to face West Chester in a non-conference contest on Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 3:30 p.m. on Ravenhill Field.
