Two Late Goals Give Men's Soccer 3-1 Win on Senior Day

PHILADELPHIA – After trailing 1-0 in the first half, the Rams secured three second half goals, two of which were in the final 13 minutes, to help the Thomas Jefferson University men's soccer team (8-4-2) earn a 3-1 non-conference victory over Millersville University (7-6) on Senior Day. 

WHAT HAPPENED 

• The Rams trailed early as the Marauders scored on a free kick at the 2:26 mark in the game 

• Jefferson looked to get back early on as they attempted 6 shots, but none went to the back of the net 

• The Rams went into the break trailing 1-0 

• Looking to get back in the game in the second half, Gabe Paz took a pass from Emilson Bitri across the net and hit it right past the goalkeeper to make it 1-1 at the 50th minute mark 

• The game was competitive throughout the second half, with neither team seeming to break the tie up 

• Jefferson took advantage of an opportunity as a corner kick led to a pop up header. The goalie and defenders bounced the ball around to Mohamed Elhendawy feet, allowing him to kick it in the net and giving the Rams a 2-1 lead in the 77:11 mark 

• Diego Guzman put the icing on the game, receiving a Paz pass, faking a defender, and making his shot in the right corner at the 83:38 mark to help Jefferson earn the 3-1 victory

Before the game, the Rams recognized Glenn Moyer, Rob Arnason, Liam Stijelja, Michael Darigo, David Bollmann, Mateo Infante, Imran Sekagya, TJ Hibsman, and team photographer/social media manager Sofia Testa as Jefferson honored their seniors on Senior Day.
