Fullerton, Kuczynski Snag Weekly Awards for Basketball
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Thomas Jefferson University men's and women's basketball team had one player apiece earn Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Weekly Award winners for competition that ran through November 11-17.
Sean Fullerton was named Rookie of the Week for the men while women took their second Player of the Week honors, this time for
Emma Kuczynski.
SEAN FULLERTON – ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Fullerton earns his first weekly award nod this season and in his career for the Rams, while Jefferson takes their second award nod this season. Fullerton put up 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting and 5-of-9 from three while having 4 rebounds and 3 assists in the Rams' 2-0 week. He had 8 points on 3-of-6 shooting while being 2-of-5 from three, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists in Jefferson's win over Kutztown. Fullerton followed that up with 11 points off of 4-of-5 shooting, 3-of-4 from beyond the arc, to help the Rams defeat Millersville in a close matchup of unbeaten teams.
EMMA KUCZYNSKI – PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kuczynski receivers her first weekly award this season as well in her career while Jefferson has their second player take this award this year. Kuczynski averaged 24 ppg this week, going 20-of-24 on the floor with an 83.3 shooting percentage, 72.7 from beyond the arc as she was 8-11, 10 assists, and 7 steals as the Rams went 2-0 in their matchups . She started off the week with a career-high 26 points on 11-of-14 shooting, 4-6 from three, 6 steals, 5 assists, and 3 rebounds in the Rams tight non-conference win over CACC opponent Dominican University (N.Y.). Kuczynski followed that up with 22 points on 9-of-10 shooting, only missing one shot, while going 4-5 from beyond the arc as she added 5 assists, 2 rebounds, and a steal in Jefferson's victory over Kutztown.
Basketball will get ready this Wednesday with both teams taking their games on the road. Men's basketball faces off against West Chester University at 6 p.m. while women's basketball goes against East Stroudsburg University at 7 p.m.
