Three Rams Earn CACC Weekly Awards

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Thomas Jefferson University saw three of their athletes take home Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) weekly awards for competition that ran through September 22-28. Gianna Garozzo takes home Player of the Week honors for women's soccer while JR Sexton and Anouk Oderkerk were given Rookie of the Week nod for men's soccer and women's tennis respectively. 

GIANNA GAROZZO – PLAYER OF THE WEEK 
Garozzo takes her second weekly award in her career, first this season, with the team earning their third on the year. Garozzo scored three goals in two games, one a game-winner, as she helped the Rams go 2-0 on the week. She began with one goal in Jefferson's 2-0 victory over Georgian Court. Garozzo followed it up with a two-goal game in the Rams 5-0 shutout over Dominican. 

JR SEXTON – ROOKIE OF THE WEEK 
Sexton secures the team and himself the first weekly award on the season. Sexton recorded back to back shutouts and 13 saves on the week, helping Jefferson go 2-0 in their conference matches. He began the week with 8 saves in the Rams 2-0 shutout over Georgian Court. Sexton followed it up with 5 more saves for Jefferson's 2-0 win against Dominican. 

ANOUK ODERKERK – ROOKIE OF THE WEEK 
Oderkerk has her fourth weekly award this year along with the team as well. Oderkerk won all three of the single matches in the first position and two in the first doubles spot, going 5-1 on the week. She helped women's tennis snap Wilmington's 18-game conference win streak as well.
