Women's Lacrosse Opens Season Against Southern Connecticut State
PHILADELPHIA – Hosting their season opener at Maguire Field down at Penn Charter, Thomas Jefferson University women's lacrosse (0-1) started their season with a tough matchup against Southern Connecticut State University (1-0). The Rams held a 5-1 lead before ultimately falling 8-7 to the Owls.
WHAT HAPPENED

Jefferson began with the first goal of the season as Meaghan Avanzato put it in the back of the net at the 5:30 mark in the first. After Southern Connecticut State tied it up, a yellow card gave the Rams an opportunity to get ahead. They took advantage of it as Lilly Lutz and Reagan Rogers scored to make it 3-1 after the opening 10 minutes

Lutz and Rogers had two goals apiece while Gori, Avanzato, and I. Gluck put up one. Ava Sztenderowicz earned 3 caused turnovers, I. Gluck won eight draw controls, and Kalyn Ammerlaan had 10 saves with three ground balls during the contest
