Orangeburg, NY- The Philadelphia University
women's lacrosse team (2-3, 2-0 CACC) got a convincing 17-5 win
over the Dominican College Chargers (0-3, 0-1 CACC) on Thursday
afternoon. The win was PhilaU's second straight conference
victory.
The Lady Rams were led by freshman attacker Taylor
Peltzer's (Holland, PA/ Archbishop Wood) five goals, as
she tallied six points on the day.
The Chargers got a quick first goal two minutes into the first
half to take a brief 1-0 lead, but PhilaU sophomore midfielder
Michelle O'Hanlon (Springfield, PA/ Springfield)
tossed in two of her three goals in a minute span to give the Lady
Rams a 2-1 lead.
DC responded with another goal at 20:57 to even it at 2-2, but
PhilaU went on a 5-0 run to go ahead 7-2. DC sandwiched
another goal in between an additional maroon and gray 5-0 run as
PhilaU ran up the score 12-3- highlighted by junior attacker
Lauren Woodie's (Monmouth Beach, NJ/ Shore
Regional) hat trick. Both squads added another goal to go
into the half with PhilaU leading 13-4.
Peltzer got hot in the second half, scoring three goals and
senior attacker Sarah Davis (Dublin, OH/Dublin
Scioto) added one in the stanza. DC would score one more at
8:29 as PhilaU completed the 17-5 win.
PhilaU junior goalie Katherine Sullivan (Mt.
Laurel, NJ/ Lenape) made 18 saves for the Lady Rams, allowing just
five goals in 60 minutes of action.
