Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University
Lady Rams (6-3, 5-0 CACC) picked up a non-conference win in a 16-5
victory over the St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartans (0-7, 0-2 ECC)
on Tuesday afternoon.
The Lady Rams were led by sophomore midfielder Caribeth
Shappell (Lancaster, PA/ Cocalico) with five goals and one
assist.
PhilaU senior midfielder Kathleen Maurer
(Rochester, NY/ Our Lady of Mercy) notched the game-winner with the
sixth goal at 10:47 in the first half. Maurer had three goals
and an assist on the day. The Lady Rams led 10-2 at the half.
Junior attacker Taylor Boyle (Wilton, CT/
Wilton) also added four points in the contest.
PhilaU senior goalie Kat Sullivan (Mt. Laurel,
NJ/ Lenape) racked up 10 saves in the win, while STAC's Jen
Kugler notched 13 saves for the Spartans.
The Lady Rams get back in between the lines on Saturday (4/10)
at Dominican College at 3:00 p.m.
